Our 1st Christmas

Cute Santa Chloe and little Elf Caroline! These were their Christmas Eve outfits that Granny got them that say " Who needs Santa when I have Grandma" And boy is that right. The girls now have tons of toys to fill up there new play room! We videoed them unwrapping all their gifts and they were more fascinated with the paper and bows than the actual gifts, but I know soon they will like the gifts too. I will up load more pictures later this week when have our Internet hooked up at our new house! We moved in this past weekend still unpacking up so exciting to be in a new home of our own again! Still praying for our house in Dallas to sell.

6 months~

WOW! Every week it seems they learn to do something new and fun. This week Caroline will sit in my lap and push down with her legs to stand up, she wants to skip crawling and go straight to walking, but she can't figure out why she can stand up with help, but not walk, she gets really mad and starts growling. It's so funny. Chloe and Caroline are both trying crawl, pushing up and moving all over the place but not crawling. They both love to lay on their tummy's and kick their legs up and down like drums on the floor. Chloe is still a lot bigger than Caroline, but Caroline thinks she is bigger and pushes her sister around. Chloe just wants to be next to Caroline and try to talk to her. They both talk baby talk constantly and make so much noise. Chloe had been doing really well with her neck exercises and her head is looking so much better. We go back on the 5th to see if she will need a helmet or not. We are praying no and that her head will just keep improving the more she moves around. Today we go for their 6m shots and this weekend we are finally moving into our new house! YEA! Unfortunately we still have our house in Dallas, praying that it will sell really soon! I'm not sure how much the girls weigh, but we will find out today and I will post next week once our Internet is hooked up at our new house. If I had to guess I would say Chloe weighs 15 lbs+ and Caroline like 13 and 1/2 lbs. Caroline is just a mover and exercises all her weight off. She only takes 15min naps during the day and wakes smiling and kicking ready to see what trouble she can get herself into. Chloe loves to nap most of the time and will nap for usually 30mins+ in between each of her feedings, but Caroline wants me to be her legs and take her around to see new things. The girls shirts say " Daddy says I was a great idea" that's b/c daddy gets to go to work everyday and not see what a stinker you two really are.

5 months happy girls!

OK, not the best pic b/c it's from my phone! Forgot to bring the camera with me. But, look at the happy cute little girls! The girls are rolling over like crazy! On top of each other and everything!~ Chloe is on the left and Caroline in the right, but in this picture is a little easier to see who is who! Caroline is grabbing her toes all the time and likes to pull off her socks! Caroline's favorite game to play is airplane! She loves to fly and laughs the whole time! Chloe is now my special child, she has to go to the head Dr to have her flat head looked at this next week before Thanksgiving! YOU can see her flat left side of her head from this pic! The little stinker must have slept on that side of her head the last 3 months inside when she was head down because you can prop on the right side of her head and then 10 minutes later she will start screaming in her sleep until she is on the other side again and then instantly falls back asleep! Bad, Bad Chloe! Girls both want to crawl really bad, but they can't figure out how to make their tummies move! They both pull on the blankets to move, and raise up their butts, but they can't move on their tummies, but they roll all around and can end up all over by floor by moving! THAT's all for now!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Our First Halloween! Mommy had 3 outfits to change us into, but we didn't really care for the wardrobe changes. So Chloe got to be a kitty and Caroline a little ghost even though they each had the same outfit to wear, and another little outfit from Aunt Remica that said, "I love my Mummy" with a little mummy on it. Oh well, to much fun. All the excitement made Chloe sleep all night for 10 hours, but not I want to play constantly and talk Caroline, she woke up to eat at 2am and then again at 6am, but she talked from 2:30, (whe she finished her bottle), to 3:43 when she finally fell back to sleep again. So did mummy get any sleep? NO!

Wow, time flies!

Chloe smiling big..... with Caroline's legs in the background....
Caroline sitting up pretty checking it all out.
I can't believe the girls will be 5 months in just another week! Lots has changed..............1st we've moved to the Houston area! Yes, that's correct. We have our house for sell in Dallas and we've found a new house south west of Houston in Rosenberg. You all know Robert doesn't like to live in the "city," and we had to find a house with a big back yard for the dogs. Those are few and far between. Since we moved the girls were a little late getting their 4 month shots and check up.

Today is Halloween and yesterday at their Dr. appt. Chloe weighed 13 lbs and 1o ozs and Caroline 11 lbs and 10 ozs. They are steady holding their 2 lb difference.
Rolling over is their new thing. Caroline rolled over 3 weeks ago and Chloe this last week. Caroline can roll from tummy to back and back to tummy. Chloe thinks back to tummy is the only way to go b/c when she gets to her tummy she just smiles and sits there with her head up for a while. Then after a few minutes she starts screaming and she is saying ok people come get me and turn me back over I already did one trick.
Tomorrow I will update with their cute Halloween outfits since they have 3 each there will be a lot more pictures to come.

3 months already!

The girls are growing and getting prettier by the day! Here are their latest pics! 2+ weeks ago the girls went to the dr. for their 1st little colds. They weighed in at: Chloe 11 lbs and 1 oz and Caroline 8 lbs and 14 ozs. I'm sure by now Chloe is closer to 11 1/2 and Caroline 9 1/2. They are doing better and sleeping more at night! Thank you Jesus! But, as they are getting bigger they are wanting to play more, eat more and test out their lungs more! They are just super needy little girls and they are already jealous of the other sister getting to eat 1st or being picked up 1st. It's just amazing how they already are noticing these things! Here Chloe is swinging her arm around and bangs Caroline on the head. "Ouch" Caroline says, "You just wait, I'll get you back." And so it begins.....

2 months!

Hello Everyone!
Well I'm still just super busy with the girls! This last Friday they had their 2 months checkup and shots! Surprisingly theydid well, just really sleepy all day afterwards which was kind of nice. Chloe didn't like them, but was quite after a few minutes. Caroline cried more about having her legs held down than getting stuck with the needle! Chloe weighed in at 10 lbs and 3 ozs at 23 inches and Caroline at 8 lbs and 1 oz doubling her birth weight! and measured in at 22 1/4th inches. Here if a pic of Chloe and Caroline on this Saturday. We took the girls to our Sunday school class end of summer party. Of course the girls were a hit and it was nice for everyone else to was to play with and hold them!

Baby's 1st 4th!

Hello Everyone,

Here is a pic of the girls 1st 4th! Wow, it's crazy here at my house. Little sleep and back to back feedings are really getting to me! Girls had another check up and Chloe is up to 7lbs and 8 ozs as of Monday and Caroline is up to 5lbs a nd 10 ozs. WOW, Chloe just feels like a chunky baby, and Caroline just feels so much lighter, but they are both doing well. It's the parents that are going crazy. This is my 1st week at the house with the girls by myself. This is one of the 1st times I've been able do something without the other girls deciding she would like to eat now. I pretty much feed the girls back to back every 2 to 3 hours! I hurry to shower, don't dry hair, maybe put a little makeup on, feed one then the other, that sometimes takes only 1 hour, but not usually, then change the diaper again, burp really good, set Caroline up to help with her reflux. Maybe try to sleep at least an hour between until noon. Next break I eat, next break I wash bottles for the middle of the night feeding so it doesn't take 2 hours, next break I wash some clothes, next break I get to the blog or something else that needs to be done, next break I get dinner ready, next break I try to spend time with Robert, then I feed again ,sleep for and 1 hour, get up all night doing it all over again with maybe 3 hours of sleep in between. Anyway enough about the life I don't have. My children just aren't big enough yet to attempt feeding at the same time. Would work if I had 4 hands!

Anyway, if you call and I don't answer you now know what I'm doing! Now the know that twins are double trouble. Having one right now would seem like a vacation.

It's like feeding time at the zoo at my house, so if you call we are just feeding the girls, sorry! Remica took this great pic!

Update on the Girlies!

This is Sara, updating for Barbara.

Things are going well for the Sims family. Barbara is expected to get released today! The girls won't be home for a few days still, but at least Barbara (and Robert) can sleep in their own bed for the first time in a while.

Chloe is now completely off oxygen and both girls are working at feeding from the bottle and/or breastfeeding. They actually both still have feeding tubes, because they are so small that the action of eating burns more calories than they are gaining from the food. (Oh, that we would all lose weight by eating).

They'll come home when their doctor thinks they are big enough and when they're able to eat without the feeding tubes. Keep your fingers crossed and say your prayers that this is sooner rather than later!

On to the note that you've all been waiting for. They are, of course, EXTREMELY cute! Here is some pictorial evidence.

WELCOME - Little Miss Chloe and Little Miss Caroline!

This is Remica updating the blog for Barb. I know that you are all anxious to see the girls - well, let me tell you they are just BEAUTIFUL!!!! I saw Momma, Daddy, and the girls today and everyone is doing great. Barbara looks AWESOME for just having twins! The girls were born yesterday afternoon by c-section at 2:35 and 2:36. Chloe was the first born, then soon after came Caroline. Caroline is the smaller of the two and is doing well. She is feeding off of her momma very well to me so little bitty. Chloe is on oxygen and a feeding tube. They are going to try to give her a bottle this afternoon, then try to let Barb feed her tomorrow. Little Miss Chloe loved her paci today, so I don't think she is going to have any problems when it comes to feeding! Here are some stats and pictures. More to come later.

35 week pic

Ok, this was really hard to post this pic b/c I really don't want people to see how HUGE my belly is, but b/c is just so freakish I figured I should share! It's a good thing my body has put on extra weight or I would probably fall over. Went to Dr. again this morning and Caroline I know for sure is going to be the red head,b/c she is transverse again instead of being head down, she is really doing to give me heart problems. I need her to move back to head down. Chloe has been head down on her side minding her own business for 3 months now. No, not Caroline, she is trying out every possible position each week! Keep praying that I can make thru this week and next to 37 weeks. I'm just really tired and I hurt everywhere and it feels like my tummy may just open up for them to come out thru what use to be my belly button.

Growing Girls!

HI Everyone!
Today was measuring day! Chloe is now 5lbs and 5 ozs she gained a whole pound and 2 ozs, and Caroline is now 4lbs and 2 ozs she gained almost a whole pound, 14 ozs. I'm so excited they are growing more with just sitting with my feet up! Hopefully we will make it 2 more weeks for them to get to 6 and 1/2 and 5 and 1/2. That would be really exciting, and it would be 37 weeks, even more exciting for twins! Grow baby girls Grow!

Chloe and Caroline's Room

The girls room is, for the most part, done~! Just need to separate more clothes and get them into the right size baskets. We have so many clothes for the girls it's crazy! And since I like things perfectly organized, the closet will need to be reorganized to make all the little baskets of clothes fit! All the cute dresses are hanging, but all the little knit clothes and onesies are being folded into baskets, one for each girl since they have so many matching outfits. I'm thinking that they will look nothing alike at this point, so the same outfits may be the only thing they have in common. On Monday Chloe measured 4lbs 3ozs and Caroline 3lbs 5 ozs, by 37 weeks they should be 6 and 5, that's what I'm hoping anyway. Not sure if we will make it much past that since twins avg 35.4 weeks for delivery. Next week is 34 weeks. Right now staying home has really helped the swelling, by mostly just keeping the feet up and mind reading. Robert put together my glider last night, and now the room feels so much smaller! Having 2 cribs really does take up a lot of space. But, now I can sit in my glider and sort and organize without having to stand. Can't wait for the girls to get here!

Bed Rest/ 2 vs 1

OK, so it's been almost 2 full months since I've last updated! As you can see from the pic, I've been busy growing 2 little baby girls and of course working! Today is my second day on bed rest, which as you can probably tell from the yucky swelling in the pic I really needed. This is a picture of me and my friend Rachel. She is having her cute baby girl the same time we will be having the girls, and yes, their is a HUGE difference as you can tell from having 1 to having 2. If you can only imagine all the questions I would get from people while I'm out or just even walking thru Nordstrom to get to my office. Robert and I were as Sam's about 2 weeks ago, and he was shocked how many people stopped and wanted to comment or ask about the size of my stomach! At the check out was a lady, with only 3 weeks to go, when she found out I was having twins the strange look disappeared from her face. When we left he asked if this happened to me all the time. I said yes! And it really getting worse!
Pro's of bed rest: NO WORK, less swelling due to having feet up, able to update blog, reading books, and taking naps! Going to Dr/Drs 3 times a week is now an outing.
Cons' of bed rest: No work, yes, I am one of those control freaks that happened to love my job for the most part. Had to give my crackberry to my interim, and I don't get to see my friends who I share an office area with. Yesterday my 1st day at home, it was 9:20 and I was thinking, I bet Lexi and Jackie are going to the ebar to have coffee and I'm here at my house wishing I was going too!
Ok, enough of that, I will work on posting pics of the girls room, and more pics from my showers this week!

Belly getting Bigger! Much Bigger!

Ok, this is for all of you that are just dying to see how HUGE my stomach is getting. I'm having to put my hands under my chest because my stomach curves out so much, so quickly! I feel like it is growing an inch each week, and my poor belly button feels like it is going to rip right out, not much more it can take before needs to make a decision on what it's going to do, flat or out! Anyway, that's all for now. Go to see the specialist on Monday, hopefully to find out what they are! Robert just loves taking these pictures!

Babies 1st Pics

Here are the little cuties. Not the best pic, but one is on his/her back and the other is leaning over and hugging his/her brother/sister, at least that's what I like to think. Robert thinks they are already fighting in the womb, not a chance, right? Anyway, with 2 it's hard to get the both of them in the same pic, plus they were moving around a lot. One was waving it's little arm at one point!

Belly Picture!~

OK, so here it is, a pic of my all of a sudden in the last 2 weeks BIG tummy. No, I'm not sticking it out, wish I was, there is just 2 cute little babies in there. Robert made me pull the shirt tight across my tummy so everyone could get the full effect. We went to the Dr. yesterday, hoping they may be able to tell us something of what the 2 cuties would be, but not till next time. The good news is from here on out we get to go see the specialist at the hospital for the special sonograms before we come to see our Dr. (There are some perks of having twins, free special sonograms where you can see everything about the babies!) Don't be surprised if you don't see weekly belly pics, being this big at only 4 months is very daunting!

Shocked!!!

Hello Everyone,
Robert has been wanting kids since the day we were married. Actually, he started this whole need for kids when we started dating to tell the truth. This last year I finally gave into all the "when are we going to have kids" questions from Robert and promised him I would stop taking the pills at the end of July, thinking that we would not be pregnant for at least 6 months plus since all my other friends it took at least that long. Well as life would have it it took only 4 months. Our first trip to the Dr., he said, "well you are definitely pregnant", printed out a little pic with a dot on it. Then as I made it to the counter to do more paper work, he came over and joked that next time we came in we would get to find out how many we were having. With all the seriousness I would muster I looked him right in the eyes and asked him if there was anything on the pic to indicated there could be more than one. He said, on I'm just joking with you. What a good sense of humor he has I told myself, but not FUNNY. Then on our next visit he is checking my heart, and tells the nurse that my heart is strong enough to carry 3 babies, but we've never had 3 babies before have we. Then time for the tummy exam, he gets really quiet and says there's the 2nd one. A feeling of deep fear comes over me, he must just be joking again. HaHa. Then I look at the screen and see several things floating around in there. I ask the Dr. to make sure there are just 2. Those other things were there yoke sacks. Then the next thing I can think to say is, I hate you to Robert. Then, the Dr explains that twins are all on the mom and what her body does. Bla, Bla, Bla, not what I wanted to hear. And Robert is over there just Laughing, he thinks this is great! And is over the moon excited. Robert says the Dr left because I looked more than just a little upset. At the time I guess, shocked, upset, what in the world just happened here was on my face. I was just getting use to the idea that we would have A baby, but 2! WOW, now that's a blessing. Robert reminds me later that I would always joke about having twins because I don't like the idea of being pregnant, the fatness, the thought of having stretch marks, and not being in control of what is happening to my body, all, not on my to do list. So, since Robert wanted kids of his OWN, I use to think how great it would be to have twins to get it all knocked out in one shot. Apparently God took me seriously on that one, and here we are, pregnant with Twins!
